This isn’t a groundbreaking blog idea, but it came to me the other day while I was settling into a restorative class at Shine Yoga Studio.
I couldn't have picked a worse time, because the whole idea behind restorative yoga is to clear your mind and, essentially, think about nothing for an entire hour. And here I am, trying to come up with random facts about myself. 😂
These aren’t in any particular order or ranked by importance. Thank goodness. You could say they’re very... random. Enjoy!

I recorded the Seinfeld series finale on VHS (I was so excited), and then someone in my house recorded over it. RIP.
Growing up, I was obsessed with the Titanic, mummies, Laura Ingalls Wilder books, and New Kids on the Block.
When I was 16, my dream was to move to New York City and become a makeup artist. Wow, so fancy. This book heavily inspired that unfulfilled dream.
I played softball for years. I started in elementary school and quit right before my senior year. Why? I thought I was too cool for it. See below.
Before the term "emo" existed, I was considered "goth" during my junior and senior years of high school. My favorite bands were Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. I wore black every day. It was a funny time.
Two of my favorite movies are Rosemary's Baby and Midnight Cowboy.

I eat the same thing for breakfast, and I bring the same snacks to work every day: one organic apple, one kiwi, one meat stick, and three cans of the best sparkling water on the planet. This is totally normal behavior.
Speaking of drinks, I didn't start drinking coffee until I was 36. I finally understand (and fully support) coffee addiction.
I’m on a roll with the “speaking ofs”—SPEAKING OF addiction, I’ve been 100,000% sober for over four years. I wrote about my experience here.
I graduated from Missouri State University 20 years ago with a degree in Fashion Merchandising. Who gets a fashion degree in Springfield, Missouri??
I’ve only been in four serious relationships, I’ve never been married, and I had a health-related hysterectomy two years ago. I would’ve been considered a witch back in the day, and you know it.
I've been a Boston terrier mom for nearly 20 years. I ❤️ BOSTON TERRIERS.
I worked for A Beautiful Mess for nearly ten years, and I've been at BigPxl for over two years. I loved that job, but I have a newfound love for marketing agency life.
I was diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder in 2016, and I'm 100% pro-medication because it has been life-changing for me.
My great-grandparents (on my mom's side) immigrated from Lebanon to the U.S. in the early 1900s. I tell people all the time because I think it's neat.

I try to avoid gluten and dairy, but once a week I go HAM and order a Carolina-style pulled pork sandwich with a giant portion of hand-cut fries from the drive-thru at Buckingham’s. There, I said it.
My dad taught me about the stock market when I was a teenager. I used my high school graduation money to buy Ford Motor Co. stock. That account is empty now. A real learning experience. Sorry, Dad!
